Clients: How to manage email preferences and notification settings

This guide explains how to control which emails you receive from Debitura. You can adjust your notification preferences to reduce inbox volume while staying informed about important case updates.

Updated over a week ago

Goal

Access your notification settings and adjust which email types you receive from Debitura.

Steps

  1. Go to Notification Settings - Open your Notification Settings page in the Debitura client portal.

  2. Review the two notification categories - The settings page shows two toggles you can control:

  • Case notifications - Real-time updates about your cases, including assignment notifications, partner decline or close events, payment registrations, information requests from partners, chat messages, and contract signing reminders.

  • Todo digest notifications - Scheduled task summaries and overdue reminders sent to your organization.

  1. Toggle preferences on or off - Enable or disable each category based on your needs. Changes take effect immediately.

  2. Save and close - Your preferences are saved automatically. You can return to this page at any time to adjust your settings.

Result

After updating your preferences, you will only receive emails for the categories you have enabled. Disabled categories will no longer be sent to your email address.

Email categories explained

Case notifications include real-time alerts when:

  • A case is assigned to a partner or moved to the network

  • A partner declines or closes a case

  • Partial or full payments are registered

  • A partner requests additional information from you

  • Your collection partner sends a message through the case chat (bundled after 10 minutes of inactivity)

  • A new case is awaiting your signature (contract signing reminders, up to three follow-ups)

Todo digest notifications include:

  • Overdue task reminders when you have unfinished tasks past their deadline (sent at most once per week)

Important notes

  • Organization-wide delivery - Task digests and overdue reminders are sent to all active users in your organization, not just the person assigned to specific tasks. This ensures tasks are visible to anyone who can help.

  • Some emails cannot be disabled - The following operational emails are always sent and do not respect your notification preferences:

    • User activation and invitation emails (to help new users set up their accounts)

    • Bank account security digests (sent to admins when bank account details change)

    • Missing bank account reminders (sent when cases are created without payout details)

  • Preferences are per user - Each team member controls their own notification settings. Changing your preferences does not affect other users in your organization. To manage team members, see How to respond to tasks and information requests.
