Goal
Close your Debitura account so that it is deactivated and eventually permanently deleted.
Before you start
Only users with the Admin role can close an account. If you have a User role, ask your account admin to perform the closure.
Your account can only be closed when:
All cases are closed or withdrawn. If you have open cases, you must close or withdraw each case first. Note that withdrawing a case during an active collection period may trigger the agreed success fee.
No leads have active quotes. If a collection partner has submitted a quote on a lead that you have not yet accepted or declined, you must resolve those leads before deletion is available.
If your account does not meet these conditions, the portal will display a message explaining what is blocking deletion.
Steps
Log in to app.debitura.com.
Go to Settings > General Settings.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Delete Account".
Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Your account is immediately deactivated and you are signed out.
What happens after closure
Account closure happens in two phases:
Soft delete (0 - 6 months): Your account becomes inaccessible through the portal, but the underlying data is retained for up to 6 months. You cannot log in during this period.
Permanent deletion (after 6 months): All data associated with your account is permanently deleted via an automated process. This includes your company record, all user accounts linked to the account, and associated case and debtor data.
Audit logs are retained independently and are not erased as part of account closure.
If you cannot delete your account
Check for active cases: Open your Cases list and close or withdraw any open cases.
Resolve pending leads: Accept or decline any outstanding collection quotes.
Contact support: If deletion is still blocked after resolving all cases and leads, email [email protected].
GDPR and data requests
Account closure is a business-driven process, not a GDPR Article 17 erasure workflow. The 6-month retention period applies before permanent deletion. For formal data subject requests (erasure, portability, or other rights), contact l[email protected].
