When you submit a debt collection case, Debitura automatically matches it with a local collection partner qualified to handle the claim. This article explains how the matching works, what criteria are used, and what to expect after a partner is assigned.

What is partner assignment?

Partner assignment is the automated process that connects your case with a collection partner in the debtor's location. Debitura maintains a network of vetted collection agencies and law firms across multiple countries and jurisdictions. When you create a case, the platform evaluates the case details and routes it to the right partner without any manual action on your part.

The assigned partner is typically an exclusive partner who has committed to handling cases in that jurisdiction under Debitura's Standard Debt Collection Agreement (SDCA). This means standardized pricing and terms for your case.

Why it matters

Automatic partner assignment gives you several advantages:

  • Speed - Your case is assigned instantly when you submit it. There is no waiting period or manual selection process.

  • Local expertise - The partner assigned to your case operates in the debtor's jurisdiction and understands local collection laws, language, and practices.

  • Standard pricing - Exclusive partners follow the SDCA pricing model (No Cure, No Pay), so you only pay a success fee if the debt is recovered.

  • Quality control - Debitura selects and monitors partners to ensure professional handling of your cases.

How the matching works

The matching system evaluates four criteria from your case to find a qualified partner:

Debtor location

The jurisdiction where the debtor is located. Partners specify which jurisdictions they cover.

Claim amount

The total amount owed. Partners define minimum and maximum thresholds for the cases they accept.

Currency

The currency of the claim. Amounts are converted for consistent comparison against partner thresholds.

Debtor type

Whether the debtor is a company (B2B) or a private individual (B2C). Some partners specialize in one type.

All four criteria must be satisfied for a partner to qualify. The system evaluates available partners and assigns the first one whose coverage rules match your case.

In jurisdictions where multiple exclusive partners operate with different specializations (for example, one partner for B2B cases above a certain amount and another for B2C cases), the system evaluates all partners and assigns the one whose rules match your specific case details.

What happens after a partner is assigned

Once a matching partner is found, your case enters the collection process:

  1. The case is assigned to the partner and moves into a verification stage. You can see the assigned partner in your Cases list.

  2. A Power of Attorney (PoA) is required between you and the assigned partner, authorizing them to act on your behalf.

  3. The partner reviews and accepts the case under SDCA terms.

  4. Active collection begins. The partner has an exclusive six-month collection period to recover the debt.

When no local partner is available

If no exclusive partner matches your case (for example, because no partner covers that jurisdiction or the claim falls outside available thresholds), the case is not rejected. Instead, it is sent to Debitura's legal network, where multiple collection agencies and law firms can review your case and submit competitive quotes.

In this scenario:

  • You will receive one or more quotes from network partners with their proposed pricing and approach.

  • You choose which quote to accept (or decline all).

  • The pricing is set by the quoting partner, not by the standard SDCA schedule.

What to expect

  • You do not choose the partner yourself. Assignment is automatic based on your case details. You can view your assigned partners on the Partners page.

  • Pricing follows standard terms. When an exclusive partner handles your case, the success fee is determined by claim size, region, and debt age under the SDCA. See Success fees for details.

  • A Power of Attorney is required. Before collection can begin, a PoA must be in place between you and the assigned partner.

  • The same partner handles your cases in a given jurisdiction. If you submit multiple cases to the same jurisdiction, they are typically routed to the same partner for consistency.

  • You can check coverage before submitting. When creating a case, the platform shows which partner will handle it based on the debtor's location, so you know the assignment before you submit.
