Review and compare quotes from legal collection partners, and select the best option when your case is referred for legal collection.
When quote collection happens
Legal escalation is appropriate when:
No collection partner matches your case at creation (jurisdiction, claim amount, or debtor type)
Your assigned collection partner declines the case
Your collection partner needs custom pricing terms for a non-standard case
Debitura creates a quote request automatically in each of these situations
Quote collection is automatic - you do not need to request it. For more context on case stages, see case stages.
Steps
Go to your Cases
Log in to the client portal and go to Cases.Open the case that is collecting quotes
Click on the case to open the case details page. The case will show a status indicating that quotes are being collected.Quotes are collected automatically
Debitura automatically shares your case with matching legal collection partners from its network. You do not need to take any action to start this process - the system handles partner matching based on your case criteria (jurisdiction, claim amount, debtor type).Wait for quotes
Partners have a collection window of up to 120 business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00) to submit quotes, or collection ends when the expected number of quotes is reached. You will be notified as quotes arrive.Review and compare quotes
Open the case to view the quotes you have received. Each quote includes the partner's proposed pricing (hourly rate, flat fee, success fee, or hybrid) and their approach to collecting your debt. For details on evaluating quotes, see legal quote flow.Select a winning quote
Choose the quote that best fits your needs. Once you select a winner, the case is assigned to that partner and moves to Active status. The partner can immediately begin legal proceedings.
Result
After selecting a winning quote:
The winning partner's quote is marked as Accepted
Other quotes are marked as Declined
Your case is assigned to the winning partner
The case status changes to Active
The partner can begin working on legal collection under the agreed pricing terms
Unlike standard pre-legal cases covered by the Standard Debt Collection Agreement (SDCA), legal cases use custom quote pricing agreed between you and the selected partner.
Edge cases
No quotes received
If no partners submit quotes within the collection window, you will be notified. You can contact Debitura support for guidance on next steps.
Want to cancel before selecting a quote?
You can close the case at any time during quote collection, even after quotes have been submitted. All submitted quotes will be declined. See close or withdraw a case.
Quote selection expires
If you do not select a winner after quotes are collected, the request expires. You will receive reminder emails - the first after 10 days, and a second 7 days later.
Multiple rounds of quotes
If the first round of quotes does not produce an acceptable option, a new round can be created. Each case can have multiple rounds of quote collection.
