Goal
Sign the SDCA before submitting your first case, sign the PoA when working with a new collection partner, and access your signed documents whenever needed.
Prerequisites
A Debitura client account (you accepted the platform terms when you created your account)
Access to the email address associated with your account (for verification during SDCA signing)
Steps
Part A: Sign the Standard Debt Collection Agreement (SDCA)
The SDCA must be signed before you can submit your first case. It defines the terms between you, Debitura, and your collection partner, including success fees and the no-cure-no-pay model.
Access the signing page. You can reach it two ways:
From the Getting Started widget on your dashboard, click the "Sign the Standard Debt Collection Agreement" task.
Or go directly to your Contracts page.
Complete two-factor verification. A six-digit verification code is sent to you. Enter the code to confirm your identity.
Review the agreement. Read through the SDCA terms. For a summary of key terms, see SDCA: key terms.
Draw your signature. Use your mouse or touchscreen to draw your signature in the signature box. If you have previously saved a default signature, it may be inserted automatically.
Submit. Click the submit button to finalize your signature. A signed PDF is generated and stored securely.
Part B: Sign the Power of Attorney (PoA)
The PoA authorizes a specific collection partner to act on your behalf. You sign it the first time you engage a new partner. Once signed, the PoA covers all future cases with that partner.
Wait for the prompt. When you submit a case to a new partner (or when a case is assigned to a partner you have not worked with before), the platform prompts you to sign the PoA.
Review the authorization. The PoA authorizes the partner to communicate with the debtor, negotiate payment terms, and initiate legal proceedings if necessary. For more details, see Power of Attorney (PoA).
Draw your signature. Use your mouse or touchscreen, or use your saved default signature if available. Two-factor verification is not required for the PoA.
Submit. Click submit. The signed PoA PDF is generated and stored.
Part C: Access your signed documents
Go to the Contracts page. Open https://app.debitura.com/Contracts in your browser.
View and download. The page displays your signed SDCA and all PoAs. Click on any document to view or download the PDF.
For more on accessing documents, see Where to view and download signed agreements.
Result
After completing the steps above:
Your SDCA is signed and you can submit cases for collection.
Your PoA is signed for each partner, authorizing them to act on your behalf.
All signed documents are available on your Contracts page at any time.
The Getting Started widget on your dashboard shows the "Sign the Standard Debt Collection Agreement" task as complete (green checkmark).
Edge cases
Agreement updates: When Debitura releases a new version of the SDCA, you are prompted to review and sign the updated agreement the next time you log in. Signing an updated SDCA does not require two-factor verification.
Multiple partners: You only sign the PoA once per partner. If you work with three different partners, you sign three separate PoAs. Each PoA is valid for all future cases with that partner.
Saved signatures: You can save a default signature in your profile. This signature is automatically inserted when you sign new PoAs, speeding up the process.
